I have a big CD case from my college days that has collected random CDs and traveled with me to Hawaii and back (big thanks to my mom who shipped it out me because its weight would have tipped the luggage scales. Also, she ordered and sent me a great CD player with a double cassette player and radio. Music + a mom who understood having it was that important to me = <3). I got my first laptop and iPod just a few years ago, so CDs and cassettes were it for a long time.
I pulled out this honker yesterday and rediscovered a treasure trove of memory-inducing music that hasn’t jumped into my laptop or iPod yet, including an EP Martha Wainwright gave me years ago. It’s so banged up that it barely played, but with the magic of the internet, I found it again. I can’t bring myself to toss the disc.
I love this song for so many reasons.
